Chicharito Channels Joe Kapp

Even Javier Hernandez didn’t expect his season to turn out the way it did.

"I dreamed about playing for Manchester United and thought perhaps in my first season I’d play for the Reserves with maybe a few minutes in the first team. But thanks to the boss and all my team-mates I have played a little bit more!”

So there he was, accepting the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award, representing the fan’s choice as Manchester United’s best.

It was a hardly surprise that he received such acclaim. Hernandez scored gigantically important goals for his new club, including several very late game winners that helped the squad win their 19th title.

So there he was, honored, and humbled. So humbled that he channeled his inner Joe Kapp.
Joe Kapp had been voted Minnesota Viking team MVP in the year they made it to their first Super Bowl. "There is no most valuable Viking." Kapp said. "There are 40 most valuable Vikings. I can't accept this." He left the trophy on the podium.

"I have to say thank you so much to the fans. They have helped me a lot. I think this was a difficult decision to make and I don’t think I deserve it because it hasn’t been just one player who has played well. We are a team.” Hernandez said.

Unlike, Kapp, though, Javier kept the trophy.

As far as we know.
