Podcast: Could the Lakers beating the Celtics change the direction of this season?

No category

The Los Angeles Lakers won probably their best game of the year last night, all things considered. Today’s podcasts celebrate that, and grade the trade deadline.

The 30

In this week’s episode, Jas talks with Silver Screen and Roll Writer Sabreena Merchant after Rajon Rondo’s buzzer beater gave the Lakers a 129-128 win over the Boston Celtics.

Sabreena and Jas break down if this could be a momentum changing win for the Lakers as they get ready for the final stretch of the season. Then, they look into what the Lakers can look for in the buyout market, Luke Walton’s performance this year and if he will be coaching the team next season.

Following that, Sabreena and Jas look into the Lakers playoff chances and who would be the ideal first round opponent for them.

Locked on Lakers

Pete and I were joined by some rando wearing a weird hat. We spend the first couple segments of the show celebrating the Lakers’ win over the Celtics. It was that much fun. Beating Boston is always great. Doing so in Boston… Well that’s just amazing.

We ask the question whether that might be a legitimate turning point for a season that felt very much on the brink of really getting ugly. Pete and I agree that it really feels that way. Harrison… Well Harrison is Spock, so he wants to wait this out a bit.

We then turn our attention to how the Lakers handled the trade deadline, and whether there are any concerns as a result of how they did business.

Finally, we ended the show with a touching tribute to a couple traded fan favorites you won’t want to miss.
