Remember when you were in 5th grade, and you and your friend were super close, so you beelined for the “best friends” bracelet and necklace session of Claire’s or Target (or maybe you made your own, props if you did) to announce your best friendship to the world?
Well, Queen Elizabeth and Meghan Markle basically pulled the adult version of that during their royal visit on Thursday.
The reigning monarch stepped out for the first time solo with Markle, and she gifted her granddaughter-in-law a special piece of jewelry for the occasion: a tiny pair of glimmering pearl and diamond drop earrings, according to People.

The best part? The earrings are a mini version of the queen’s own, and they both wore them out while together, in case you wanted further proof that they’re practically besties at this point. (Remember Harry and Markle’s matching beaded bracelets? Apparently the royals have a thing for matchy-matchy jewelry.)

RELATED: Queen Elizabeth Has Secretly Been a Meghan Markle Stan This Whole Time
It’s really no secret at this point that Queen Elizabeth is kind of a huge Markle fan. Even with some slight awkward moments here and there (remember their wedding planning disagreement?), they still seem to click really well. After all, the queen does keep a picture of Markle on her side table at Buckingham Palace, so needless to say, things are good.
No word yet on whether Harry (or William or Kate) are allowed in on this treat.
