A stalker was arrested outside of Bella Hadid’s New York City apartment on Thursday after a 37-year-old man was allegedly seen loitering nearby.
The supermodel called the New York Police Department to report the incident, telling the officers that the man, who has since been identified Ryan S. Perez, had been stalking and harassing her since December 17, 2017, People reports. Hadid told the NYPD that he had sent “numerous unwanted threatening messages” to her through her social media accounts.
Perez was arrested around 9:35 p.m. last night and was charged with aggravated harassment and stalking. The investigation is ongoing, a NYPD spokesperson tells People.

Hadid is hardly the first young model who has dealt with stalkers. Late last year, Kendall Jenner opened up about her own troubles with stalkers on an episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, telling her sisters she different men lingering outside her home at least twice a week. She was so unsettled and traumatized that she contemplated getting a gun for her protection.
Jenner and Khloé Kardashian went to a shooting range to test out different firearms, but ultimately decided to leave the weapons in the hands of her security guards.
Unfortunately, stalkers seem to be a regular occurrence for these famous women, but hopefully with the help of police and security they can feel a bit more safe.
Update Feb. 13: Hadid has been granted a restraining order against Perez, according to court documents obtained by E! News. He has been charged with two misdemeanor accounts of aggravated harassment in the second degree, and stalking in the fourth degree.
