Zendaya officially said farewell to Disney Channel yesterday, and let’s just say it was pretty emotional.
The 21-year-old actress got her start on Disney’s Shake It Up, which ran from 2010 to 2013. She subsequently moved on to produce and star in the fan-favorite sitcom K.C. Undercover, starting in 2015.
Yesterday, the final episode of K.C. aired, officially marking the end of Zendaya’s run on the Disney Channel. The young actress took to Twitter to say goodbye to her Disney days, and naturally, her fans had a lot to say about it!
In her tweet, Zendaya wrote, “Tonight is the last episode of KC, and therefore my last episode on Disney channel….”
Fans wrote back to express their sadness that her time on the channel is over, with many saying they grew up watching her shows.
Zendaya followed up with another short message on the social media site, calling it the “end of an era” and thanking her fans for “continuing to grow” with her. She even included an image of herself drawing the signature Disney Channel mouse ears—she looks so young!
And to those who were really upset, the former Disney Channel star had a few words of consolation:
It’s certainly the end of a major chapter, but we can’t wait to see what’s next in this young star’s career.
