Kelly Clarkson is back with a big announcement. The American Idol winner, who cancelled the remainder of her Piece by Piece Tour in September due to vocal strain and welcomed her second child in April, got back in touch with her fans this week via Facebook Live.
Clarkson kicked off her at-home cover concert series on Monday with a performance of Otis Redding’s “These Arms of Mine” from the Dirty Dancing soundtrack, hinting at a big reveal to come on Friday. “This is the coolest announcement for me as an artist,” she said.
“We’re going to announce it Friday, and instead of doing like a boring press release, I thought it would be cool to do something kind of my style to announce something,” she said, revealing that the four songs that she’ll perform from Monday through Thursday will hint at the announcement.
“I picked these four songs because these four artists that did these songs have something in common. That’s my hint for the day,” she said.
On Tuesday, she was back with a peek at her adorable 2-year-old daughter River Rose and a performance of Foreigner’s “I Want to Know What Love Is.”
The vocalist, who revealed that she gets more nervous talking than singing, had her pianist shooting down fans’ ideas of what the big news could be. Through handwritten signs in the background, he revealed that Clarkson isn’t pregnant, she’s not going on tour, nor is she filming Justin to Kelly Part 2.
So what could the big news be? Judging by the two songs she performed, it could be a cover album, a movie soundtrack, a Broadway score, or another new project that we have yet to see from the talented star.
