We have heard birds chirping, dogs barking, horses neighing but definitely not donkeys singing! A singing donkey in India has taken the internet by storm, a month after another donkey in Ireland grabbed eyeballs for touching high notes with its voice.
When donkeys make use of two-toned calls it is called braying. The Times of India reported that a donkey rescued by a non-governmental organisation in Pune has surprised many as she sang in a high-pitched voice when she felt like it.
The video was posted by RESQ charitable Trust that rescues helpless animals in need of medical aid. Speaking to TOI, the NGO’s communication spokesperson Tina Mohandas said that the female donkey which has been named Emily was found in a critical condition on the streets of Pune after she delivered a baby.
