L’Équipe are reporting that OGC Nice are awaiting the arrival of FC Lorient striker Terem Moffi (23) before sanctioning Andy Delort’s (31) departure from the club.
After beginning negotiations with Les Merlus over a transfer for Moffi last week, Nice submitted two offers for the Nigerian international. Both offers, the first €15m and the second €18m, have been rejected, but negotiations between the two clubs are ongoing, and Nice are still optimistic about striking a deal. Nice face competition for Moffi’s signature with West Ham United also submitting a bid, according to Sky Sports News.
Moffi is the second-highest scorer in Ligue 1 this season with 12 goals. Only Kylian Mbappé has more. He has also proven himself against top-quality opposition, scoring against AS Monaco and Olympique de Marseille within the space of a week.
Moffi is reportedly keen on remaining in France, making a move to Nice, rather than to the Premier League a distinct possibility. Nice are counting on it, as they want the Lorient striker to replace Delort, who looks set to join FC Nantes. His move, worth approximately €7m, will be completed upon the signing of his successor at the Allianz Riviera.
