Zlatan Ibrahimović criticises Kylian Mbappé’s decision to stay at PSG

Speaking to Canal Plus, AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimović (41) criticised Kylian Mbappé’s (23) decision to remain at Paris Saint-Germain.

Amidst interest from Real Madrid, where he could have moved on a free transfer, Mbappé made the decision to remain at the Parc des Princes in May, signing a two-year deal with an option for a further year. However, former PSG striker Ibrahimović has criticised that decision.

Asked if staying in Paris was the right decision, Ibrahimović replied: “Has he made the right choice for himself? No. For Paris? Yes. He has made the right decision for PSG, but not for himself because he has put himself in a situation where he is more important than the club and the club gave him the means to do that. But you’re never bigger than the club.”

Despite only signing the extension back in May, Mbappé is rumoured to be keen on a departure from PSG. According to Le Parisien, the French international striker feels betrayed by the club due to a number of unkept promises during the summer transfer window.
