COLLINGSWOOD, NJ — The Collingswood Farmers Market has a chance to be named the top farmers market in the United States. It’s a strong contender, placing second in the nation and first in the Northeast as of Monday afternoon, according to the contest standings.
The 2023 America’s Farmers Market Celebration showcases markets throughout the nation. Supporters can cast votes for their favorite farmers market until Sept. 18. The top-five markets will earn prize money, with the national winner receiving $5,000. Each state winner will get $100.

Collingswood’s market ranks second in the nation with 503 votes as of 1 p.m. Monday, trailing the Lakewood Ranch Farmers Market (815 votes) in Lakewood Ranch, Florida. The South Jersey point of interest also holds more than double the votes of the Garden State’s second-leading vote-getter — the West Windsor Community Farmers Market, which has 209 votes.
The Collingswood Farmers Market also contended for best in the nation for USA TODAY 10Best’s Reader Choice Awards. Voting ended July 3, and USA Today will announce the winners on Friday.

American Farmland Trust and the Farmers Market Coalition hold the America’s Farmers Market Celebration annually, allowing the public to vote for their favorite markets. The prize money will support marketing, communication and other needs for the winners.
The Collingswood Farmers Market takes place from 8 a.m. to noon Saturdays from May to Thanksgiving at 713 North Atlantic Ave., Collingswood.
