LIMERICK, PA —State Rep. Joe Ciresi, who represents western Montgomery County including Limerick, Pottstown, and Royersford, said Wednesday there are problems with trash pickup on schedule in his district.
Ciresi, a Montomery County Democrat, said he plans to have a Democratic State Policy Committee hearing to see what can be done to recity the trash collection problem. in the region.
Ciresi, who resides in Limerick, said A.J. Blosenski has not been picking up on time in the Limerick area, noting he has recieved several dozen complaints.

He said that there are no plans to have municipal trash collection.
The township has a population of 20,458 residents and covers 22 square miles.

“This is a real issue,” he said. “They aren’t picking up our trash. This will become a public health issue after awhile.”
A.J. Blosenski was a family-owned company that was acquired by Waste Connections in September.
Blosenski issued a statement to customers apologizing for the interruptions. The company said it is evaluating routes and hosting hiring events.
Trash problems elsewhere
After residents in Tredyffrin Township complained about trash collection, the township supervisors opted to implement municipal trash collection.
The township is expected to award a contract in September. To date, Blosenski and Whitetail Disposal are collecting trash in the township.
East Whiteland Township has issued citations to Blosenski for multiple and continued violations of the township solid waste and recycling code.
The citations pertain to a lack of consistent residential waste and recycling collection services.
