LAPD DUI Checkpoint, Saturation Patrols Planned Through Monday

LOS ANGELES, CA — The Los Angeles Police Department will be out in force through Monday with a series of DUI saturation patrols and a DUI checkpoint.

The saturation patrols will target the West San Fernando Valley and Topanga areas Sunday and Monday, and the DUI Checkpoint is ongoing Saturday night in the Lomita area.

“The DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on data showing incidents of impaired driving-related crashes and arrests,” the LAPD announced in a written statement. “The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints is to promote public safety by educating drivers on the perils of DUI and by taking suspected impaired drivers off the road.”
