M’Baye Niang on the verge of joining St Étienne on loan

L’Équipe report that Senegalese international attacker M’Baye Niang is on the verge of completing a loan move from Rennes to St Étienne.

The 25-year-old is set to make the switch after the two clubs agreed in principle to a loan, but since Tuesday have been working on a salary sharing agreement for a player who earns between €220k and €250k a month gross.

Claude Puel phoned Niang to accelerate the deal, but it won’t be completed until the Brittany side settles a dispute over bonuses with the player.
