PITTSBURGH, PA — Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph, who led the team to the playoffs last year in a late-season surge, is now an ex-Steeler.
According to multiple reports, Rudolph has signed with the Tennessee Titans. There, he has a chance to compete against Will Levis for the starting quarterback job.
Rudolph, 28, has spent his entire career with the Steelers. He was a third-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. He spent most of his time in Pittsburgh as the team’s third-string quarterback until an injury to Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett and the inefficiency of former Steelers quarterback Mitch Trubisky thrust him into the starter’s role late in the season.

However, Rudolph likely saw the handwriting on the wall when the Steelers signed Super Bowl winning quarterback Russell Wilson, who has played for the Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos. He will compete with Pickett for the starting job.

With Trubisky recently signing with the Buffalo Bills, the Steelers need an additional quarterback on their roster. Most likely, the team will pursue a third-string quarterback late in April’s NFL Draft.
