L’Équipe report that ex-Nantes manager Vahid Halilhodzic is edging ever closer to taking up the Moroccan national team managerial post vacated by Hervé Renard.
The 67-year-old left Les Canaris at the end of the last week, after a protracted battle with the board there over a transfer.
Salary has however not been agreed between the relevant parties – Morocco are willing to offer €100k a month, but Coach Vahid wants closer to €200k a month.
A source close to the situation has indicated that a compromise should be found: “They should reach an agreement around €1.5m a year, excluding bonuses.”
A two-year contract appears to be in the offing.
