Watford are holding up PSG’s January transfer window

France Football report that PSG have failed to advance in their pursuit of a central midfielder in recent days because of Watford’s activity in the transfer market.

Everton want Abdoulaye Doucouré to replace Idrissa Gueye, who the Toffees have agreed in principle to sell to PSG, if they find a replacement, but the Hornets are not allowing the Frenchman to join EFC for anything less than €50m, which Marco Silva’s club consider unreasonable.

As a result, Les Parisiens’ number one priority is Julian Weigl of Borussia Dortmund, who is also the chief option for PSG boss Thomas Tuchel.
