Gator Race Raises Over $3K For Glen Ellyn Parks Foundation

GLEN ELLYN, IL — The Glen Ellyn Parks Foundation raised more than $3,000 in their first-ever Gator Race, which was held Aug. 22 at Sunset Pool. The race, which featured hundreds of rubber ducks, raked in a total of $3,075.

Funds from the race will help sustain scholarships via the Glen Ellyn Parks Foundation. These scholarships allow more residents to take part in soccer games, swim lessons, classes and other initiatives offered by the park district.

A total of 546 rubber gators were sponsored by residents and local businesses ahead of the race, Courtney O’Kray, Superintendent of Marketing and Communications for the Glen Ellyn Park District, told Patch.
