ROMEOVILLE, IL — Romeoville resident and author Megan Deliberto has releaed her third children’s book, entitled “Sleep Stegosauraus: A Naptime Story.” Deliberto has previously written “No Place for a Lizard,” and “Bruno’s Best Birthday.”
Her latest book is a nap time story for babies to 6-year-olds, she told Patch.
The story follows a dinosaur named Stanley, who usually loves to play dino games, but is just too tired to play today.

“Some of his dino friends react poorly to Stanley’s news, but his friend Cooper helps him understand that there are many different reasons why his body might be extra sleepy, and in the end, rest is always best,” Deliberto said.
The idea for the book spawned from a drawing of a stegosaurus that Deliberto’s son made.

” He wanted to throw it away, and I told him I would write a story about it. It reminded me of all the hours I spent snuggling and reading bedtime stories with him, and I hope the little sleepy stegosaurus can be part of someone else’s nap time routine,” Deliberto said.
When asked how this book was different from her others, Deliberto said this is much shorter than her other two children’s books.
“I tend to be very wordy, and being concise is essential, especially within the children’s genre. No Place for a Lizard and Bruno’s Best Birthday are both considered long for children’s stories, so instead of writing out the story and sending it to the editor, I now take the time to consolidate as many sentences as possible,” she told Patch.

Since this story is for the youngest readers, she set a word limit count and stuck to it. “Sleepy Stegosaurus: A Naptime Story” is 527 words, while her two previous books are almost 2,000 words.
“Sleepy Stegosaurus: A Naptime Story” is available on Deliberto’s website, and will be released on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and everywhere books are sold on Sept. 15.
