The Reds will look to follow their Merseyside derby win over Everton with another triumph as they travel to Turf Moor

After the high of Sunday, more Premier League business for Liverpool to take care of.

Jurgen Klopp’s side will look to follow their dramatic victory over Everton as they travel to Burnley on Wednesday night. The Reds remained on the coat-tails of Manchester City at the top of the table thanks to Divock Origi’s late, late Merseyside derby winner, but there is no time to rest.

It was another late show here last season, with Ragnar Klavan sealing a 2-1 success on New Year’s Day. Klopp, one suspects, would take a ‘same again’ if offered it right now as his side seek to prolong the title race as long as possible.

Here, Goal takes a look at everything you need to know ahead of Wednesday’s game…

Time to assess and to patch up, with games coming thick and fast.

Klopp revealed on Sunday that Sadio Mane had suffered a cut to his foot in the second half against Everton, and that he had played through the pain barrier to last the 90 minutes. Andy Robertson, meanwhile, suffered a dead leg in the game.

Dejan Lovren was not in the 18-man squad at the weekend, but there has been no confirmation of an injury yet. Otherwise, Klopp will hope for a clean bill of health and will make his decisions based on freshness.

Liverpool do not have any suspended players for this game, with Jordan Henderson returning after serving a one-game ban against Everton.

To rotate or not to rotate?

We can expect Klopp to shuffle his pack a little, surely? His side have back-to-back away games, with a huge Champions League clash with Napoli looming on the horizon too.

Expect changes in defence, with either Lovren or Joel Matip coming in at centre-back, while it would be no surprise to see Joe Gomez switch to right-back. Moreno could replace Robertson at left-back.

In midfield, Henderson could make an immediate return should Klopp wish to rest the legs of Gini Wijnaldum, for example, while Naby Keita will be pushing for a start having appeared off the bench in the last two games. James Milner, too, is an option.

And in attack, both Origi and Daniel Sturridge will hope for minutes, possibly at the expense of Roberto Firmino, whose form has been patchy of late, or Mane if he fails to recover from his foot problem.

The Clarets will check on the fitness of Robbie Brady, who is nursing an ankle injury.

Sean Dyche will again be without long-term casualties Nick Pope, Stephen Ward and Jon Walters.

The fixture will not be broadcast live on UK TV, but will kick off at 7.45pm. Highlights can be found on Match of the Day, BBC1 at 10.45pm.

In the United States the game can be watched live on television on NBC Sports, kick-off 2,45pm ET.
