Podcast: Discussing the latest Lakers trade rumors, from Brandon Ingram to Dennis Smith Jr.

No category

In today’s episode of “Can You Dig It?,” Christian and Grant discuss the latest Lakers trade rumors about Dennis Smith Jr., Brandon Ingram and (briefly) Carmelo Anthony. They also answer some questions for their listeners about the upcoming NBA trade deadline, Anthony Davis, next year’s free agency class and, of course, lower back tattoos.

Plus, help is finally on the way for the Los Angeles Lakers, or at least that’s what most fans are assuming. Rajon Rondo and LeBron James are close to returning to the court, but at this point, “close” could mean a few days or another week.

Locked on Lakers

Today’s episode features a friend of the show, Jorge Sedano of ESPN, but before I get to that conversation, I previewed a weekend many might not consider all that important. To summarize, it’s very important. At the very least, the Lakers need to at least split — and preferably win — both their upcoming winnable games. I discuss some of what Rajon Rondo might bring in a return to the court.

From there, I throw to a really fun conversation with Sedano. We start by discussing how this season has gone from a few perspectives: LeBron James’, the city’s and Sedano’s based on his prior experience covering LeBron’s teams. This has been a rollercoaster of a season in several regards, and LeBron’s latest injury might legitimately have him considering his own NBA mortality.

We also get to the language of LeBron. Anytime he says something publicly, it’s for a purpose. Case in point: Carmelo Anthony. We discussed the saga that won’t seem to go away.
