A set of tough restrictions on diesel cars in polluted Delhi is allowing many luxury car enthusiasts in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh to get their hands on a used Audi or a Mercedes at a huge discount.
Sudeep Kaul, from Chandigarh, recently bought a used diesel Audi A4 for Rs 10 lakh from Delhi. The same car, if registered in Chandigarh, would have cost him around Rs 14 lakh. Gurjot Singh, another Chandigarh resident, bought a Mercedes E Class for Rs 11 lakh from the national capital. He would have had to shell out Rs 15 lakh in Chandigarh.
