Presnel Kimpembe has 4-5 matches to gain World Cup fitness

According to L’Équipe Paris Saint Germain centre-back Presnel Kimpembe is set to return to training with the rest of the squad either on Wednesday or Thursday this week. This comes six weeks after his hamstring injury in his right thigh during PSG’s home game to Brest in September.

He could be in PSG’s squad to face Maccabi Haïfa next week, after Christophe Galtier lost Danilo Pereira on Sunday (who was his initial replacement in a back three).

Similarly to Paul Pogba, he now is in a race against time to reach full fitness for the Qatar World Cup in November. The France and Juventus midfielder is expected to return against Benfica on the 25th October, which could give him enough time to make the France squad, as Juventus play Lecce, PSG, Inter Milan, Helas Verona, and Lazio – which gives Pogba a potential six games to get up to speed.
