2022 saw some cricket records that were broken and that made the year special.

There was a lot of cricket action throughout the year but there are some that stood out.
Let’s take a look:
1. Virat Kohli
Virat Kohli became the leading run-getter in T20 World Cup history. The former Indian skipper went passed Mahela Jayawardene’s tally of 1016 runs to become the leading run-scorer.
2. Suryakumar Yadav
Suryakumar hit 59 sixes in 2022, which is the most by any in a calendar year and went past Mohammad Rizwan’s tally of 43 sixes in the same year.
3. Ishan Kishan
Ishan Kishan smashed the fastest 200 in ODIs in just 126 balls, breaking Chris Gayle’s record of 138 balls in 2015.
4. England cricket team
On day 1 of the Rawalpindi Test vs Pakistan England scored 506 runs. It was the highest run tally on Day 1 in Test cricket history.
5. Indian cricket team
India played 38 T20Is in 2022 and won 28, the most since Pakistan won 20 in 2021.
