Stolen Car, Attempted Vehicle Theft In Nutley: Police

NUTLEY, NJ — A stolen car and attempted vehicle theft were reported in Nutley last week, authorities said.

Both incidents were reported on Dec. 23, police said, releasing the following details about the crimes:

Ackerman Street – “Officers responded on report of an attempted motor vehicle theft. The victim stated they parked their car on the street overnight and when they returned to their vehicle, they noticed damage to their driver’s side door. They stated the vehicle was locked and nothing was taken from it.”

Walnut Street – “Officers responded on report of a motor vehicle theft. The victim stated they parked their car and when they returned to their vehicle, it was no longer there. The victim stated the vehicle was locked after they parked. Police later recovered the vehicle in Newark with the steering column broken and rear window shattered. It was processed and returned to the victim.”
