CONCORD, NH — Concord police, Merrimack County sheriff’s employees, and New Hampshire State Police are in Manchester Street and Garvins Falls Road area of the city after a man was shot on Tuesday night.
Police dispatch received a report of a shooting around 7:15 p.m. Several officers were sent to the scene while the investigatory van was prepared. Dispatch later said the man was conscious and breathing, “at the moment.”

The dispatcher added a minute later, “They think he’s alive, but it’s not looking good.”

State police were also requested, and county sheriff’s employees arrived to assist, too. Allenstown and Chichester police are also assisting.
Dispatch, while speaking with callers, told officers the shooting occurred at a home on Garvins Falls Road and the victim had made his way to the Dunkin’ Donuts on Manchester Street.

The first arriving officers were attempting to work on the man before firefighters and EMTs arrived, according to scanner chatter. An officer said they were detaining a person at the scene while the shooting victim was taken to Concord Hospital Just before 7:30 p.m.
Parts of Manchester Street and Garvins Falls Road are closed to traffic. Officers also spoke to the manager of Dunkin’ Donuts and told him the business was being closed for the evening due to the investigation.
Police have set up a search grid in that part of the city, searching for suspects and witnesses. Most of the activity is centered around the flophouse apartment building just off the corner of the intersection as well as several homeless camps in the immediate area. Police are also in the Black Hill Road area, too. Officers are tracking footsteps through the fresh snow and speaking with neighbors.
The suspect was described as a white male wearing a black sweatshirt, a black beanie, with facial and neck tattoos, and tennis sneakers.
