SpaceX Launch Seen From La Quinta Golf Course: Patch Photo Of The Week

LA QUINTA, CA—When it comes to the night sky, few places are more amazing for stargazing than La Quinta. The SpaceX Starlink launch that lifted off from Vandeberg Space Force Base painted the vibrant sunset sky with a spiral tail seen for hundreds of miles around.

Recently, resident and golfer Dean Messeri captured the sight of the SpaceX rocket launch from the PGA West.

Messeri told Patch that he looked skyward at about 7:30 p.m. on Sunday and saw the bright curl of white that could only be the contrail behind the rocket launch.

This particular Vandenberg launch was seen across state lines, according to Space.com. The launch vehicle carried 22 Starlink satellites spaceward. As it went, the growing dusk was a picture-perfect backdrop for the engine plume.

Though Patch received numerous rocket launch photos, this one, taken from La Quinta, offers a unique desert view of the SpaceX show.
