The Portuguese winger joined the Principality side on loan this January without an option to buy, but Monaco and Atleti have a verbal agreement over the deal for the summer transfer window.

This agreement is understood to be worth €30m, which Atleti Sporting Director Andrea Berta has told multiple Spanish sources, per the French newspaper. Of this fee, half of the amount is due to go to Sporting Lisbon, who remain in legal conflict with Atleti over Martins’ free transfer signing in 2018.

Monaco have activated negotiations, notably to get ahead of competition from Arsenal, and a deal is imminent. Leonardo Jardim has given his blessing for the deal to go ahead & is keen to do the same with Adrien Silva (30), currently owned by Leicester City.
